Book Review: Cruel Intentions by Siobhan Davis

Guys, Siobhan Davis has a new series coming out June 10, I have just finished reading book 1 and holy mother of god...let's get to the review:

Cruel Intentions by Siobhan Davis

45888520

From Goodreads:
Life is a cruel game where only the most ruthless survive. It’s a truth my mother rebelled against, and she paid for it with her life. Now, I play their game. Publicly accepting the destiny that lies in wait for me when I turn eighteen.

But, behind closed doors, I plot my escape.

Trent, Charlie, and my twin, Drew, rule the hallways of Rydeville High with arrogance and an iron fist. I execute my role perfectly, hating every second, but they never let me forget my place in this world.

Everyone obeys the rules. They have for generations. Because our families have always been in control.

Until Cam, Sawyer, and Jackson show up. Throwing their new money around. Challenging the status quo. Setting hearts racing with their gorgeous faces, hot bodies, and bad boy attitudes.

Battle lines are drawn. Sides are taken. And I’m trapped in the middle, because I made a mistake one fateful night when I gave my V-card to a stranger in a blatant F you to my fiancĂ©.

I thought it was the one thing I owned. A precious memory to carry me through each dark day.

I couldn’t have been more wrong.

Because the stranger was Camden Marshall, leader of the new elite and my perpetual tormenter. He hates me with a passion unrivaled, and he won’t be the only one. Fire will rain down if the truth is revealed, threatening alliances, and the power struggle will turn vicious.

My life will hang in the balance.

But I’ll be ready, and I’m not going down without a fight.

----------------------------------------------------------------

HOLY CRAP, where do I start with this one.  Perfect freaking title people...you start reading this book and the more you read and the deeper you get into and the freaking title just keeps getting into your head at how perfect it is.  Cruel Intentions it is throughout the book...Abby is my new favorite girl, not because she is a badass who kicks ass and stuff like that, no, it's because this girls goes through hell but still keeps her head high and for that?  She deserves praise and much more.  She is in a cruel world, a world that I wouldn't want to live in, but she tries her best, she wants out but she knows she can't just run, not she will pay their games until she can finally escape.

But, things take a turn when Cam, Sawyer and Jackson show up, them and their new money.   Battles lines are drawn and Abby is in the middle because she gave her virginity to Cam because she wanted to rebel against her family and fiance.  She didn't know who he was but it doesn't matter know, he holds that against her, he hates Abby like nothing else and will use that to make her do whatever they want.

If she thought her life was in dangerous before now is 10 times worse but she doesn't care, that means she will fight 10 times more, she doesn't trust anyone, not here father, not her fiance, not the new guys and it seems like not even her twin bother.  She will have to just trust herself and fight.

Damn, this book, be ready people there is so much, so much going on that you will be reading int he edge of your seat.  Just as Abby doesn't know who to trust, you will not know who to trust either, my heart is divided too.  Do I like Cam, yes and at the same time and I want to hurt him too.  Drew, ah I want to use my hands and nails on him.  Sawyer and Jackson, it's a hate and love relationship too.  See where I'm going...my heart is all twisted and this is only the first book.  I just want to take Abby and hid her, don't know where, but then I live in MA so I don't think she would be too save with me lol.

But, seriously, I cannot recommend this book enough, I don't want to give spoilers but be ready for a rolercoaster and a half and for scream and crying and laughing and loving and hating Siobhan for this and then hypervatilating for book 2 when you are done reading book 1 because that cliffhanging at the end it's just TOO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm done, I need to re read it again for more clues, that last chapter had a lot going on and I'm sure I missed something.  Let me know what you think.

I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book.

5 out of 5 stars ( more like a million)

Book Review: No Feelings Involved by Siobhan Davis

I have nothing to say but let's get to this review NOW:

No Feelings Involved  by Siobhan Davis

From Goodreads:Ryan James doesn’t believe in love.

It’s a truth he learned early in life. A truth he carried with him into adulthood. He broke his golden rule one time, but Myndi trampled all over his heart, cementing his belief that love is a lie and not worth the effort.

Now he’s returned to his cynical views and promiscuous lifestyle, racking up more notches on his bedpost than he can count.

Until Summer Petersen comes crashing into his world, threatening to knock down his walls with her tempting body and sunny, sweet personality.

Summer is determined to lose her V-card before she starts freshman year of college, and the hot, older guy with the cute dimples, dazzling smile, and rippling biceps is just the man for the job. Ryan doesn’t take much persuading, and he rocks her world, giving her a night to remember.

When they walk away, there’s an unspoken agreement it was a one-time thing. Ryan doesn’t do feelings, and Summer doesn’t want to be tied down at eighteen.

But when she moves into her brother Austin’s apartment, she’s shocked to discover her new roomie is the guy who recently popped her cherry.

Ryan can’t believe he slept with Austin’s baby sister, and if he finds out, he’ll literally kill him. Keeping their hook up a secret is nonnegotiable. Keeping his thoughts, and his hands, off Summer, less so. Because the longer he’s around her, the more he finds himself catching feelings for the gorgeous brunette.

Summer doesn’t want to care for her older brother’s best friend, but Ryan makes her feel things she’s never felt before, and she’s slowly falling under his spell.

Embarking on an illicit affair behind Austin’s back has train wreck written all over it, but provided they keep their feelings in check, they can end this before he ever finds out.

It’s not like either of them is in love.

Right?

Alright, first things first, if you haven't read any of Siobhan Davis books, where have you been living, under a rock?  Seriously, people do yourself a favor and start go and start reading from her first series on or start here with this one because here standalones and THE BEST!  You get everything you want in a book, romance, family, friendships and it's always action pack and she wraps it up amazingly.  Every time I read another one of her standalones, she amazes me and I can't get enough of them and cannot wait for the next one, but don't get me wrong I'm just as hooked on her series :)

Now, let's get to this crazy ride that No Feelings Involved was...Summer Petersen, she is what every girl wishes they were.  She is not afraid to speak her mind at, she's not afraid to get what she is and trust me she goes for it not asking anyone for any favors or for any opionions, damn I wish I had a little bit of her courage. lol

Ryan James, ah, not only he will make your swoon over and over again, he is the opposite and totally the perfect guy for Summer.  He doesn't know what he wants, well one thing he know for sure is that he wants want love (yeah right), he doesn't ask for everything from anyone.  Well these two were in for a treat.

Summer decided to lose her V card right before starting college and came in Ryan, an older guy that totally did the job but rock her world too.  But they were both in for a surprise of their lives when she moves in with her bother Austin and discovers that his roomie which will be her new roomie too is no other and Ryan and guy she lost her V card too.  They both decide to not tell Austin the truth or he would otherwise kill Ryan in the process and because strike a deal to live their lives like they don't each other.  Of course as the time goes by things gets more heated and they both seem to have a hard time to keep their hands to themselves.  Will they be able to keep things private without Austin knowing, will they be able to keep things just as friends?

Hot, hot, hot and the chemistry between these two were crazy.  And they story was perfect...Summer was just what Ryan needed on his life, but don't think things goes smooth between them, be ready for a ride.  And family is always lovely to have around, right?

Another 5 out of 5 stars for this one...loved Summer and Ryan, loved seeing old characters make an appearance, loved getting to know new characters.  Overall amazing.

Book Review: Again, but Better by Christine Riccio

So, I'm wicked behind on my book reviews, but my life has been turned upside down in the last few months...sickness and so no so good diagnosis.  Eh...not so fun, but going to try to think positive and let's keep on review some books, because just one thing I didn't stop by was reading, lol.

Let's get to some reviews, first up:

Again, but Better by Christine Riccio

From GoodReads:
Shane has been doing college all wrong. Pre-med, stellar grades, and happy parents…sounds ideal—but Shane's made zero friends, goes home every weekend, and romance…what’s that?

Her life has been dorm, dining hall, class, repeat. Time's a ticking, and she needs a change—there's nothing like moving to a new country to really mix things up. Shane signs up for a semester abroad in London. She's going to right all her college mistakes: make friends, pursue boys, and find adventure!

Easier said than done. She is soon faced with the complicated realities of living outside her bubble, and when self-doubt sneaks in, her new life starts to fall apart.

Shane comes to find that, with the right amount of courage and determination one can conquer anything. Throw in some fate and a touch of magic—the possibilities are endless.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

First of, if you watch BookTube then you definitely know who Christine Riccio is and you have probably picked this book because first you want to support her and second it sounds pretty damn amazing.  And yes, I also fall on those categories too.  So I picked the book up and I read it, my opinion?  I totally enjoyed this book.  Yeah, it took a turn that I was not expecting but I still enjoyed a lot, really, really enjoyed.  So, now let's talk about this book that enjoyed so much lol.

Shane has been the perfect daughter to her parents, they want her to go to med school and be the perfect student and she has been that perfect student and she is pre med because that's what they want and that's what she will do for them.  But, she is not happy, they may think she is but she is not.  She has no friends and romance?  That is so far off her radar that's no even funny, she hasn't even kissed a boy yet.

So, when the opportunity comes for her to sign up for a semester abroad in London, she just does it.  Her goal is to make friends, find a boy or two and find adventure.  But, things don't go always according to plan, specially when that plan started with some flaws at the beginning.  However with some courage and determination and faith Shane finds herself been able to do anything.  Even if things come by in a weird form.

Be prepared for some major twist, I wasn't expecting, but if you have an open mind and let's be honest this is fiction and anything is possible, right? Well, then be prepared for a crazy ride.  I loved the romance, loved the friendships that were created, loved the traveling to other different countries, family drama (who doesn't love that?).  Can't give too much away without spoilers but really cute contemporary with a total different twist.  Totally recommend.

4.5 out 5 stars.
