By Your Side by Kasie West

Not that long ago I had this cold that totally knocked me out, I spent two weekends in bed and I remember one weekend where I read nothing but contemporary books and here I am, doing a bunch of these reviews not.  Not that I am complaining but I freaking  loved them, it was an amazing weekend to be sick lol

Let's jump to this review:

By Your Side by Kasie West

From GoodReads:
When Autumn Collins finds herself accidentally locked in the library for an entire weekend, she doesn't think things could get any worse.  But that's before she realizes that Dax Miller is locked in with her.  Autumn doesn't know much about Dax except that he's trouble.  Between the rumors about the fight he was in (and that brief stint in juvie that followed it) and his reputation as a loner, he's not exactly the ideal person to be stuck with.  Still, she just keeps reminding herself that is is only a matter of time before Jeff, her almost-boyfriend, realizes he left her in the library and comes to rescue her.

Only he doesn't come.  No one does.

Instead it becomes clear that Autumn is going to have to spend the next couple days living off vending-machine food and making conversation with a boy who clearly wants nothing to do with her.  Except there is more to Dax than meets the eye.  As he and Autumn first grudgingly, and then not so grudgingly, open up to each other, Autumn is struck by their surprising connection.  But can their feelings for each other survive once the weekend is over and Autumn's old life, and old love interest, threaten to pull her from Dax's side?

This is was my first Kasie West book and I loved it.  Yeah, there was some things that some people had issues, like how come the library doors didn't open from the inside and stuff like that.  But, I think people were just expecting too much to happen inside the library, I personally loved the whole story, I loved how Autumn and Dax connected, it wasn't instant love and she didn't even trust him at first and she does say too.  But she also gives him the benefit of the doubt and that's when things start to happen.  Another great subject that was touched was anxiety, Autumn deals with anxiety and she is even on medication, I had read some reviews that people said that it would be nice if they dealt with anxiety the way that Autumn dealt with, well let me tell you something, everyone deals with anxiety on a different level, I personally deal with a small deal of anxiety and I don't even take medication for it and I'm not even going to go into much detail because I don't like to talk about it but I just want to say there are lots and lots of different kinds of anxiety.  But back to the book, I loved the romance, it was just enough and cute.  And the family support?  Amazing, loved how they were always there checking in on Autumn and supporting her all the way.  Overall, a one sitting read and 5 out 5 stars, I loved it.

XOXO,

Nelia
