Book Review: Princess of Thorns by Stacey Jay

I really love reading retellings and I have had this book for a couple years now and it was about time that I read this retelling about Sleeping Beauty's daughter.  Let's check it out:

Princess of Thorns by Stacey Jay

Princess Aurora may look like a typical mortal but she is fairy blessed with enhanced strength, bravery and mercy yet she is also cursed to destroy the free will of any male who kisses her.
Disguised as a boy, Aurora enlists the help of the handsome but also cursed Prince Niklaas to fight legions of evil and free her brother from the ogre queen who stole Aurora's throne ten years ago.

Will Aurora will over evil and reach her brother before it's too late?  And can Aurora and Niklaas break their curses that is keeping them from finding their one true love?

This book was cute but at the same time we still see lots of action.  And of course this is something totally different from what we are used to, ogre queen?  Yes, that surprised me too, so expect to see her and more ogres also and with powers.  And Aurora is not your typical princess, she isn't afraid to fight and get dirty and she proves it time after time to Niklaas.  And Niklaas is so funny and at the beginning you don't know what to make of him but you grow to love him.

Overall it was another good retelling, 4 out of 5 stars.
