Book Review: Dark Triumph by Robin LaFevers

First book review of 2015 and one of my favorite books of 2014:

Dark Triumph by Robin LaFevers

This is book two of His Fair Assassin Trilogy and follows the story of Sybella, it tells you the reason why she went to the convent of St Mortain and why the sisters there were only too happy to help her then but at a price.  There she learned both the arts of seduction and death, therefore becoming one of their most dangerous weapons.

Then the convent send Sybella the last place she every thought they would send her, the place and life that nearly drove her mad, her "father's" house.  He is cruel as imaginable, the duchess worst enemy and therefore she agrees to go there and find out whatever she can to help the duchess and her country.  But he isn't the only one that she is afraid of, her "brother" love is another terrifying thing that she has had to put up with all her life and now that she I back and she to deal with the same issue again.  What is keeping her sane now is knowing that they are nothing related to her as she is Death's daughter.

When Sybella thinks that she cannot take it anymore, she receives word from the convent to free a prisoner from her "father's" castle and while she is freeing the prisoner, things don't go according to plan and she is forced to go along with the prisoners and her journey begins.

So much happens after Sybella frees the prisoners, so much action, so much emotions, stories from her past, you get to know her so much more than you think you would and for that; Thank You Robin LaFevers.  I fell in love with Sybella from the beginning but I kept falling in love with her more and more as the book progressed.  When I was done reading? I wanted more Sybella, I haven't picked up the third book yet of the trilogy, why?  Because I am so not ready to say goodbye to this trilogy just yet, but I will confess that it is killing me not knowing what is going to happen to Ismae, Sybella and of course Annith.

I gave this book a 5 out of 5 stars and totally recommend this book.  If you love lots of action, romance, bad ass female character than you will love this book.

That's it for today...hope you are all having a great weekend.

XOXO,

Nelia
