Book Review-We are the Goldens by Dana Reinhardt

After reading so many dystopian books lately I was in need ready for a light read and this totally did it for me.  I was done with this book in a couple days, I could have finished in one sitting if I didn't have to work and run errands (you know life stuff, the ones you don't want to do but HAVE to, ok I'll stop complaining for now lol).

The story is told by Nell, your typical high school freshman who has an older sister who she is extremely close to, they have always done everything together.  But Nell finds out Layla's dangerous secret and their relationship starts to get complicated.

She tells the story from the beginning, from when they started growing apart to finding out about the secret and to where/what she had to do about that secret.

There were parts that I was a little mad a Nell, she should have been too close to her sister, but by reading on her point of view you totally got it, she explain it exactly why she made the decisions that she did.  You can totally relate to Nell, just thing back when you started high school, didn't you wish you had an older sibling there to help you through it?  And now imaging that sibling just not been there for you.

She tells you when things started to change and you get to see how she pieced things together until she comes up with her final decision about what to do about the secret.

And do you want to know what the secret is? Well, well know you just have to read the book to find out.  This book is out May 27th and if you need a quick light, contemporary book for this spring/summer you need to pick this book up. I recommend it and give it a 3.8 stars

I got an advanced copy of We are the Goldens by Dana Reinhardt through NetGalley...

XOXO,

Nelia
